Ann Smith is the Executive Director of Breakthrough at Caron, a five and a half day residential personal growth workshop designed to help adults shift life patterns, improve relationships, and strengthen self-esteem.  Breakthrough at Caron is held in a beautifully restored mansion on the campus of Caron Treatment Centers; a nationally recognized comprehensive addiction treatment center located in Wernersville, PA.  The innovative Breakthrough at Caron program was featured in a one hour NBC Dateline program.  For more information, visit caron.org.

 

Ann has a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and is licensed as both a Professional Counselor ad a Marriage and Family Therapist in PA.  She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family and Family Therapists, and also has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy.  For more than 25 years, she has lectured at conferences including AAMFT US Journal, Rutgers, International Transpersonal Association, and provide workshops on topics ranging from addiction in the family to healing relationships.  Ann is the author of three books:

 

Overcoming Perfectionism: Finding the Key to Balance and Self Acceptance, 2013, 
Overcoming Perfectionism: the Key to a Balanced Recovery 1990 and 

Grandchildren of Alcoholics: Another Generation of Co-dependency. 

 

Her blog "Healthy Connections", currently active on Psychology Today's website is frequently listed as an "essential read" with over 200,000 views to date.
